Here is a rare Canadian gold token for sale.
This token was struck by Jacoby Brothers of solid 9 karat yellow gold. It is a backdated issue believed to have been struck in the early 20th century. This piece is smaller than a dime and has a diameter of about 12.7 mm. It weighs .71 grams.
This token is catalogued by Ronald Greene and Mike Locke as a British Columbia Round 1849 One Dollar Nominal #332. It has a Columbia Head obverse surrounded by nine stars. Obverse is U028. The U525 reverse features an American style B.C. shield. 9K and lamp hallmarks are located below the wreath. Token has a milled edge.
This gold piece is not denominated and is not legal tender; just a rare old token.
This example has great detail and lustrous gold color. It does show signs of former use as a jewelry piece. A small bit of smoothing is seen on the reverse. Hallmarks below wreath are a little worn but visible. Coin has a bold look with light wear and attractive toning. What a gleaming and presentable rarity this piece is!
