EDWIN ARKELL
was formerly head of the well-known mining brokerage firm of Arkell, McMillen and Stewart of Aspen, Colorado. Mr. Arkell first came to Colorado in the spring of 1879 and embarked in mining at Leadville, where he spent several years as one the builders and promoters of the "Cloud City". In the early 1880s he returned to Aspen where he acquired extensive mining and real estate interests, and was prominently identified with the growth of that city and camp. He later opened a mining brokerage firm in Colorado Springs, where he managed a number of successful Cripple Creek mines.
