This tea service was professionally appraised in 2012 for ,500. Photos of 6-page appraisal available on request.
The tray is not included in this posting but is available separately. It is German and made from 830 silver. Although not originally made for this tea set, it does complement it exceptionally well and is in excellent condition. I did not yet post it on eBay because I wanted to ensure it would be available to whomever purchased the tea set.
All pieces are in very good condition except for areas of wear on back of creamer (photo 9).
The service was originally owned by 1920 West Point graduate Julian Esrkine Raymond and his wife Mary Mildred Clark. I
nformation about Col. Raymond and his role in WWII can be found on his Wikipedia page.
Initials (MMC & JER) are inscribed on the front of all 5 pieces. The inscriptions are very ornate and may appear more like decorative swirls rather than initials.
