    Description

    From my airship collection I offer this original 1924 lovely bronze 40mm zeppelin medal. This is for the flight of the  zeppelin LZ 126 or in Germany ZR III as part of Germany's war reparation from WW 1. Obverse has Count Zeppelin full facing right wearing his cap. Legend around with birth and death dates. The lovely reverse has Mercury flying left holding aloft the rear half of the zeppelin in his outstretched hand. Rough ocean waves below. Legend around with explanation of the flight and dates. This medal commemorates an historic flight which probably started an improvement in relations between Germany and the United States.
