1949 Tiffany English Sterling Silver Tea Pot Kettle on Stand w/ Burnerpresented is a huge, solid sterling silver tea kettle on stand with a burner made by William Comyns & Sons of London, England in 1949 for exclusive retail by Tiffany & Company. The teapot is large and has a wooden finial and handle. The whole piece is fitted and the 3 footed stand has two keys that go through the rim and the bottom rim of the kettle to secure the pot to the base. The whole kettle on stand is done in a classic Georgian, late 18th or early 19th century style. the back of the kettle has a mid century style monogram of the initials NGS.
The underside is marked with the leopard's head for London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter o for the year 1949, a maker's mark for William Comyns & Sons Ltd and Tiffany & Co England. The base, the lid, the burner and the pins on the base are also hallmarked.
This piece is in great overall condition. There are a few minor dents to the front of the kettle and a small dent to the right side, towards the front (you can see how minor it is in the first photograph). The burner is in working condition and the kettle is ready to be used!
The kettle measures 9 inches from handle to spout and without the stand is 9 1/2 inches tall.
The kettle on the burner stand measures 12 3/4 inches tall.
Capacity: about 7 1/2 cups or 1.8 liters.
Total weight: 1,952 grams or 4.3 pounds.
