1960's Vintage Leedy 12" X 8" Blue Sparkle Tom Drum The Combo Outfit Slingerland

Up for sale today is a 1960's Vintage Leedy
12" X 8" inch Rack Tom Drum in Used Condition.
This 60 year old Beautiful Blue Sparkle Tom has 6 lugs per side & is made of 3ply African Mahogany/Poplar/African Mahogany wood.
This Leedy drum is from the era of Slingerland ownership from 1956-65. This is confirmed by the Leedy Lug indentations on the shell, & the (Slingerland Style) Black Ink P on the interior of the drum. Hole spacing on the lugs is 1 & 6/16" inch.
This drum should have had the Blue Leedy badge with the Chicago 48 on it, which is also confirmed by the darker version of blue sparkle under the lugs & at the top/bottom of the drum. Thankfully these darker versions fade nicely to the lighter blue sparkle Leedy's from the late 50's. I recently sold my late 50's Leedy (lighter) Blue Sparkle drums & this tom matched them.
Condition:
The Drum is "in round" or not warped, Modern heads spin on both sides. There are a few scratches here & there but will not visible from an audience member. The drum originally had a two screw tom mount (See Auction titled "
1960s Slingerland Radio King Clip Bass / Tom Drum Mount : Vintage : Lot032" #323297728158 for reference)
& later a diamond plate was added. This is confirmed by the fade patten. The good news is that if you were to use a diamond plate in the future it will hide the two holes from the original mount.
This drum does not include any hardware or drum heads. The hardware can be purchased here on ebay for around 0. for hoops, for lugs/tension rods & for the diamond plate.
