2 Vintage 1990s Zeppelin Airship Ad Signs Goodyear Tire Zeppelin Bread Bakery

Great pair of early 1990s vintage tin signs with Zeppelin advertising, reproductions of older signs from earlier in the century. Purchased by a pilot to hang in his personal airplane hangar in a private airpark in North Carolina. The Goodyear Tire Company’s iconic blimp/zeppelin with their logo and winged foot is represented in this fabulous piece of advertising, which also includes all other modes of transportation at the time: plane, ship, train, car, trucks and bus. This Goodyear Zeppelin embossed tinplate sign with rolled edges was made by the AAA Sign Co. in Coitsville OH (now permanently closed) and measures 13.25”/33.5cm x 16.5”/42cm, weight 12.5oz. The condition of the sign is very good, with a few minor scratches and one small area of paint loss on the upper right edge. The second sign in this set is an Eat Zeppelin Bread It’s Light As Air Schultz’s German-American Bakery Massillon, Ohio embossed tinplate sign. The original heavy enamel sign that this one is a reproduction of was a genuine advertisement for an Ohio bakery, and depicts an early 1910s German Zeppelin airship, with an inset of Count Ferdinand con Zeppelin, its inventor. This sign was made by the Desperate Sign Co in Wadsworth OH (in business since 1987 to the current day) and measures 13.75”/35cm x 11”/28cm, weight 8.75oz. The condition is excellent. Everything has been stored inside boxes in my clean and dry basement or inside cabinets or furniture. I do have dogs, but they do not come into contact with my sale merchandise, and everything I sell, especially any cloth or soft material items, has been thoroughly cleaned before being put up for sale. I am an environmentally conscious seller so I do reuse boxes and packaging material from items that I buy, but only if they meet my high standards of cleanliness.
