    Description

    20 AMP CIRCUIT BREAKER
    Replaces DeVilbiss p/n: GS-0025 & Z-D21508
    This part is
    so
hard to find!  Egad!  What to do?  Lucky you - we've got them!
What we are carrying is the original Mechanical Products Inc. part, like DeVilbiss used.  DeVilbiss used circuit breakers from two manufacturers - Mechanical Products and TYCO.  They started with Mechanical Products and switched to TYCO (presumably for cost reasons).  The two parts are physically and functionally interchangeable.  The Tyco part, which is no longer made, carried the part number Z-D21508, which became the replacement for the higher-cost Mechanical Products GS-0025 part.  We buy these breakers in bulk directly from the manufacturer and pass the savings onto you.  What a deal!
Do you have a bad Circuit Breaker?
On the DeVilbiss models, the circuit breakers protect the outlets.  When the breaker trips or fails, it removes power from only the outlet that it is protecting.  On some models, the duplex outlets were split - one outlet was protected by one breaker while the other side was protected by a second breaker.
Usually, the first sign of a circuit breaker going bad is intermittent voltage or "nuisance tripping".  Sometimes, the power will "cycle" on and off as the contacts inside the breaker make and break intermittently.  As the failure progresses, the voltage eventually disappears for good.  Sometimes, the breakers fail in such a manner that they will not reset (the button won't stay in when pushed).  Other times, resetting them will not re-establish output voltage (because the internal contacts are damaged).
Fortunately, they are very easy to test:  First, disconnect the wire going to one of the terminals of the breaker.  Using a continuity meter or ohm meter, check from terminal to terminal on the Circuit Breaker - you should see very low resistance (< 1 ohm) or continuity.  An open circuit or resistance higher than 1 ohm indicates open or damaged contacts.
