Presented is a wonderful quality, antique, 6 piece sterling silver tea and coffee set made by the Whiting Manufacturing Company during the late 1800s. This is a heavy weight set. This vintage set is done in Georgian form and bodies are done in a classic lobed or rounded panel form. Each piece is raised on 4 claw form feet and the pieces with lids have decorative, floral motif finials. None of the pieces have ever been monogrammed.
This set has been professionally polished to a high finish. All of the interiors have been cleaned, the whole set is ready to be used!
This set includes:
1 Kettle: 9 inches from back to spout and 8 1/2 inches tall.
1 Coffeepot: 9 3/4 inches from handle to spout and 6 1/2 inches tall.
1 Teapot: 10 5/8 inches from handle to spout and 4 1/2 inches tall.
1 Covered Sugar Bowl: 8 1/8 inches from handle to handle and 4 inches tall.
1 Creamer: 6 1/2 inches from handle to spout and 3 1/2 inches tall.
1 Waste Bowl: 4 by 5 inches and 3 3/8 inches tall.
Capacities:
Kettle: approximately 1 liter.
Teapot: approximately 1/2 liter.
Coffeepot: a little less than 1 liter.
The underside of each piece is marked for Whiting, sterling silver purity and has a retailer's mark for Shreve, Crump & Low.
This set is in excellent overall condition.
