A Creamer or Milk Pitcher
This set is elegant! The pieces are all hand chased on the body and on the lids with a lovely floral décor. The bases and the handles are solid and wonderfully cast. Each piece has a beautiful three dimensional swan finial. The pieces in this set are a wonderful size and they are a nice, heavy weight!
This set was made in America.
It is marked WF for the maker William Forbes and
retailed by Ball Tompkins and Black. This set dates circa the 1840s.
We have tested this set and found that it tests higher than 900(coin) purity, at least 925(sterling) and possibly 950. Some high end American makers worked in sterling as early as 1839, with or without using a sterling hallmark to indicate the purity. We guarantee this set is at least 925 (sterling) purity silver.
This tea set is in great condition.
There have been monogram removals on the medallions; the silver is strong and thick. These pieces are ready for your monogram. The cream pitcher is missing a pin, however it has been epoxied and is tight and strong. All the handles are tight to the body of the pots.
This is a fine quality antique set!
