Presented is a wonderful English sterling silver teapot. This piece was made by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company and dates to 1912. The pot is beautifully hand chased with floral and foliate designs. One side of the pot has a cartouche with a finely engraved crest of a bird looking at a large boulder.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no leaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the side with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter r for 1912, and the maker's mark for Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company. The lid is stamped with the lion passant, the date letter, and the maker's mark. The underside of the pot has the company name and address spelled out.
The pot stands about 9 1/4 inches tall.
This piece weighs 578 grams or 20.4 regular ounces.
