exquisite antique French individual, or
égoïste
, coffee set is made up of a footed coffee pot and sugar bowl. They are designed with a filet pattern incorporating stylized shells and acanthus leaves and ribbed, acorn shaped finials on top of both lids. The interior of each piece is vermeil, or gold washed. The handle of the coffee pot is made of beautifully grained light colored wood. The lid and body of each piece bears the French “
Minerve
Premier
Titre
” hallmark, indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. The

is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver. Each piece also bears the maker’s mark of
Charles Barrier
, master silversmith in Paris starting in 1905. The maker’s mark consists of the letters “C” and “B” surrounding the image of a gaiter with a star above. Charles Barrier was located at 7 rue
Réaumur
