Crown Crystal Australian Carnival Glass Magpie Small Ruffled Bowl, Marigold
Small ruffled sauce bowl/nappy. Design features the Australian magpie sitting on a tree branch on a stippled background. The bird is encircled by flowers on branches with tiny leaves.  The impressive bright rich marigold iridescence is a feature of Australian carnival glass. Factory ground base. Crown Crystal began producing carnival glass in Australia around 1919. Hard to find piece.
Condition:  No chips or cracks. Tiny factory grinding nicks on base edge. Iridescence is in excellent condition, just a couple of tiny scratches on the back side.
Marks:  Unmarked.
Dimensions:  5 1/2" at widest point, 2" high.
Color Note: Some pictures are taken with a black background to highlight how the color of the iridescence of carnival glass can change in appearance depending on background color. Both the white and black background photos were taken under the same lighting, only the background color was changed. How the iridescence will look in your home will depend on your unique background colors and lighting conditions.
