Here is a fantastic tea set marked Reproduction Circa 1720 Sterling, but with nothing to indicate who made it.  It consists of 5 pieces:
    1. Coffee Pot - 8-3/4 inches tall, 7 inches from handle to spout, 4-1/4 inch diameter bottom, 641.3 grams
    2. Tea Pot -  5-1/4 inches tall, 10 inches from handle to spout, 3-1/2 inch diameter base, 722.7 grams
    3. Creamer - 3-7/8 inches tall, 4-1/4 inches from handle to spout, 1-7/8 inch diameter base, 228.7 grams
    4. Open Sugar Bowl -  2-1/2 inches tall, 4-1/4 inch diameter opening, 1-3/8 inch diameter base, 194.8 grams.
    Total weight 1,787.5 grams.
I found the exact pieces marked Georg Jensen USA, and another marked Spaulding Co.  I think they were both retail establishments that had their names put on someone else's product.  The Spaulding one thought Durgin made them.  All I know is that the quality is outstanding.  The teapot has a hidden hinge, and the lid is so snugly inset that you can hardly see the line created when the edge of the lid meets the edge of the pot.  All pieces have the same vertical ribbed base, and the same handle shape.  The finials and wood are the same on the teapot and coffee pot. The finial on the teapot has a vertical opening in the wood that appears to have been caused by age, not by human hands. I think the wood just got dry and cracked, perhaps because of some previously undetected internal flaw in the wood.   All are marked the same, and all are very clean with no signs of use.  I was told they were displayed on a shelf and not used.  There are some traces of polish, and there is tarnishing.   The original tag is still on the coffee pot handle with the original price of ,450.00.  I have not polished it or tried to clean it at all, it is exactly the way it was when it came in.  All pieces are signed the same.
