We are pleased to offer this turn of the century Gorham Co.,
hand wrought,
sterling (9584. pure) silver
five piece tea service.
In Martele.
Introduced in 1897 as Gorham's
hand made line of silver wares.
Featured at the 1900 Paris Exposition,
1902 Turin Exposition,
and 1904 St. Louis Fair
where Martele won most of the awards.
During its entire production only about
4800 pieces were made, pieces,
not sets.
And, of these only 86 tea sets were crafted,
this being one of those.
A much, much smaller Martele coffee set on Ebay for ,950.

This museum worthy 1908 hand wrought Martele coffee pot is 10 inches from handle
to spout and the complete five piece service weighs 123 standard ounces.
