Egyptian pattern.
Produced in very small quantities in the late
1860s
to early
1870s (Carpenter page 67).
Far more rare in numbers than
Gorham
Japanesque.
Inquire about matching pieces.
Hallmarked as shown, including date code B for 1869,
and under the teapot an arrowhead mark, perhaps for the
finish silversmith.
The set has never been monogrammed.
Under base of teapot previous owner etched ID #.
This museum worthy, 1869 Gorham sterling Egyptian Revival teapot 11 1/2 inches
from handle to spout and the complete set 73 standard ounces.
In very fine condition.
Retains original detail.
Rich sterling patina.
