    Description

Handsome Japanese 950 Sterling Silver 4pc Midcentury Teaset K. Uyeda Large Size
Presented is a wonderful quality Japanese sterling silver 4 piece tea set. This
set was made by K. Uyeda and dates to around the 1930s-1950s. The set is
actually 950 purity silver, which it's worth noting is a higher purity of silver
than sterling, which is 925. The set is beautifully made in a fantastic
Midcentury Modern style, with gracefully curving handles and spouts and a very
sleek look overall. The pieces are very well constructed from thick, heavy gauge
silver, with a nice feeling of weight and quality in the hand. Kichigoro Uyeda
is one of the most widely known and respected Japanese silver companies, with
quite a long history of exceptional silver work, beginning all the way back in
    1884 and continuing to today.
    The set consists of:
Coffee pot: 11 7/8 inches tall, capacity of 7 cups (56 fluid ounces/1656
    milliliters).
    Teapot: 9 ¾ inches tall, capacity of 6 cups (48 fluid ounces/1419
    milliliters).
Sugar bowl: 4 1/4 inches tall, 5 ¾ inches from handle to handle.
    Creamer: 4 3/4 inches tall.
Each piece of the set is stamped with the maker's mark K. Uyeda as well as
950 sterling for the purity of the silver.
This set is in excellent condition. There is only the most minor of surface
wear, the set is very clean inside and out. There are no leaks, no splits, no
dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no solder repairs.
The total weight for the set is 2644 grams or 93.2 regular ounces.
