Description
These are 2 wonderful pieces of history, on so many different levels. The larger piece is an ad for Broadway costume designer Helene Pons's Aprons, by the Calco Chemical Company, advertising their use of their color dyes in Helene's aprons. This measures 8 1/2" W X 11" H.
The other piece of ephemera is what appears to be an invitation - to the Waldorf Astora, sent by Camille Dreyfus (1878-1956) a Swiss Chemist who invented acetate yarn, President of the Celanese Corporation of America, to give a Fashion show of Helene's work, perhaps her aprons included. A Tuesday, September 24th - this could have been 1946. This invitation is partial, meaning I believe it had been cut down to its present state. This measures roughly 7 1/4" H X 6" W.
