Description
This is for a Generator AVR & 3 Carbon BrushThis is for a generator Automatic Voltage Regulator, or AVR as it is more commonly called, and a replacement carbon brush.
This voltage regulator is used on many different brands, models, and styles of generators ranging from 4Kw to 10Kw
.
This AVR is a round or half moon shape style of AVR. The AVR has a 4 blade quick connection plug and 2 single wires that connect to the carbon brush assembly and are marked + and -
This AVR will replace any AVR that is similar in shape and size, has a total of 6 wires in the same 4 wire plug and 2 single wire configuration, and falls within the 4kw to 10kw range.
All of our AVRs, including this one, are adjustable and that is common. Each generator may run slightly different in the exact power the head generators or even in the exact RPMs of the engine, which is what controls power output from the head. So if you are not getting exactly 120v after installation the regulator needs adjusted, see Repair Help below for more information
This style of carbon brush is used in hundreds of brands and models of generators. If you carbon brush looks similar to this one then it will work for your application regardless of make, model, or rating

This carbon brush has 2 - 1/4″ diameter holes. The holes are spaced on 1″ centers. The brushes are roughly 5/8″ from the backside of the brush and on 5/8″ centers. You can use spacers, if needed, to allow the brushes to make contact.
Carbon brushes are a wearable item in all generators that have them, meaning they will wear out and have to be replaced. This lot includes 3 carbon brushes which will provide you with a new AVR and enough carbon brushes for well over 1000 hours of use and possibly up to 2000 depending on your generator!

REPAIR NOTES and ISSUES
Buying parts for your generator, pressure washer, small engine, or any other small equipment is not the same as buying a car part. Parts manuals can show the same part number for parts that are actually different, revisions are not always noted by the manufacturer, and the same model of equipment can use different parts. The make and models listed in our title are makes and models that the part will fit but that doesn't mean it will always fit every model. The information in our title will help you find the part you need but after that we always suggest that you compare the part off your unit to the one we are selling or send us information / photos of the part you need to replace and we will be happy to help!
While it is often the case that replacing an AVR requires no more than installing the new part this is not always the case. Please review our repair notes below that cover common issues that may occur when replacing
Less than 120v Output -
It is often the case that a new AVR will need to be adjusted for the unit it is being placed in as all units can produce slightly different. All of our AVR's are adjustable using the small brass screw in the small blue box on the back side of the AVR
No voltage after installation -
There can be several reason as to why a generator will not show or produce voltage after a new AVR is installed. The most common issues are the + and -, positive and negative, wires connecting to the brush assembly being crossed, the 4 blade plug not making a good connection, an old carbon brush being bad or worn out, or the carbon brush connection area being dirty or corroded. There are several other reasons that your generator may not have output after installing a new AVR, including the head being bad. If you are having this issue check everything stated above and if you are still having that issue contact us for further assistance
We always suggest when changing an AVR that you also change the carbon brush. We sell every AVR we stock in a lot with a carbon brush in our eBay store
Many brands and models can be brush style or brushless and some brands and models can change parts without any notice or documentation. We always suggest that you remove your old AVR and compare it to ours prior to purchase. You can always send us a photo of your AVR and ask us to match it and send you a link for purchase

All orders ship next business day after cleared payment. Business days are Monday through Friday with the exception of Federal Holidays. The only days we do not ship are days we can not ship so there are no exceptions to this

Our free shipping options typically ship using USPS First Class Mail but may use other standard services with FedEx or UPS. However
We DO NOT use super slow services such as Smart Post, Retail Ground, or Media Mail services that can take up to 10 days for delivery for any of our packages
We ship Worldwide using the eBay Global Shipping Program. Shipping cost will be shown you using your address on file with eBay. If you do not have an account or you are not logged into your account shipping cost may not be shown. The eBay Global Shipping program will track your package all the way to your destination, unlike most international services, and offers very competitive prices with some of the fastest delivery times of any service available!
Typically all tracking is uploaded to ebay at the time of shipping. USPS tells us that it can take up to 24 hours for tracking to first update. If it appears tracking isn't updating when checking on ebay then check tracking on the USPS website. If there still is no update contact us for assistance.
Orders that are processed through the eBay Global Shipping program will have tracking from us shipping to their facility and then tracking from them to your location. The final tracking number from eBay will not update until they have received and processed the package, which can take 2 to 5 days
RETURNS / LOST ITEMS
Returns -
We are always willing to take back parts that are not needed and replace parts that are broken in shipping. This can often be accomplished fast by simply contacting us. Customers are welcome to open a return if they wish but some items, such as small items broken in the mail, often do not require you to return the item and a replacement out can be processed faster with a direct message. Due to eBay's new policy on returns we will NOT accept a return if the incorrect reason is selected when opening the return. We also will NOT accept a return for a defective item if the item has not been tested to be known that it is defective and a restocking fee will be charged. The return process will be delayed if the wrong reason is selected as well. Select does not fit if the item does not fit, select ordered wrong item if the item ordered is the wrong item, select ordered by mistake if the order was a mistake, etc.
Restocking Fees -
While we are happy to take any item back that is not needed, not wanted, or not right the item may be subject to a restocking fee. We do offer free returns and we do cover all cost associated with returning the item. In the case of items not needed, item not wanted, or ordering the wrong item a restocking fee of up to 20% will be charged to cover original shipping costs. Without communication we can only sell the part so the buyer needs to be certain they are purchasing the correct item. If you are not sure just contact us, we are happy to help locate the correct item. We do not and will not charge a restocking fee for any broken, lost, or defective parts. We also will not charge a restocking fee if we assist in following all steps to identify the correct part.
Lost Items -
From time to time packages get lost, delayed, or destroyed in the mail. We are always happy to attempt to locate the lost package or replace it if this occurs. Before we replace the item we will attempt to locate it and get it coming to you. It is often the case that if an item is delayed or stuck in transit that a status update can get the package located and moving. Please allow 48 hours to be able to attempt to locate any lost package. After that time we will replace the lost package
Damaged Items -
We are always happy to replace items that are broken in shipping. It is often the case that smaller items will not need to be returned and we can ship a replacement the next day. It is often easier and faster to simply contact us about the broken item as opposed to opening a return for the item. If this occurs simply contact us first for all options available to get you a new item in the fastest way possible
