LARGE 1946 china RUTH GIBBS Godey's Lady ,"Little Women" 12" doll w/gold shoes

Very large
and very pretty, 12 inch tall,
signed: RUTH GIBBS,
(in block letters on the back of her shoulders)
pink-tint
, china shoulderhead doll by
Ruth Gibbs
, Flemington, N.J.,
circa 1940s,
and designed by
Herbert Johnson
. She is absolutely delightful and in near mint condition wearing her charming, "
Little Women
" style, (homemade?) long green floral printed gown with long fitted sleeves, full skirt and
original long yellow lacy chemise with ruffles and ribbon inserts.
She has a
pink cloth body with pale pink china limbs
and wonderful painted
gold necklace
and
gold heeled shoes!
She has lovely molded features with large, blue painted eyes, long eyelashes, rosy cheeks, slightly parted lips and pretty, brunette curly, painted hair. What a terrific member of this famous
classic
family
of "Little Women" dolls produced by an
American manufacturer during the World War II era.
She has no damages, no repairs, no holes or tears or fading and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. Original Ruth Gibbs box is
not included.
