This fine tom accompanied the matching Orion Classic Maple drums I’m listing separately - 10,12,14 toms, 20” kick & 14” Maple Deluxe snare. Tom is all factory original except for the used Aquariun batter head. Purchased new years ago, when Mapex was striving to become a reputable top-shelf brand. Very classy drum, with excellent features. The 24kt gold plating is exceptional. Mapex created (still do) high-quality drums at remarkably reasonable prices. Orion Classic Series maple drums were their top-of-the-line professional series back in the late ‘90s.
This drum was used mostly for live playing. It was always transported and stored in a hard case. As such, it’s remarkably clean, for its age - chrome & gold shine and natural lacquer glows. Shell and edges are excellent. Inner ply is immaculate. Rims and mount are solid and used heads tune up fine. See photos.
Scrutinizer note: Expect a few tiny dings and scratches on the lacquer finish, chrome and gold plating. Batter head is well used. But, bottom head is still relatively clean and clear. Too, the brass badges are still relatively clean. See photos. Tom is used, but still looks great. See all photos.***
