Mies van der Rohe's Farnsworth House - 1945
Mies van der Rohe, one of the founding fathers of International Modern architecture, made the ultimate statement in the glass box house with this design for Dr. Edith Farnsworth. This seminal house became the model for uncounted houses since, but few if any have ever achieved its peaceful, perfectly proportioned presence.This set of plans includes extensive and highly detailed drawings showing how Mies achieved his minimalist effects.
As a work of art these prints are worth purchasing in their own right. For those of you interested in building a historically inspired house, these plans offer an excellent starting point. Outside dimensions are approximately 51' x 59', including the terrace.
