    This is a very fine and rare c1920
    hand wrought
    Philip Oriel sterling silver
    tea kettle on matching stand.
    It is a
    hand made
    re-creation of a c1820
    Georgian design.
    The House of Oriel was founded c1905
    a branch of
    Arthur S. Vernay.
    It was created to complement Vernay's antique
    and custom interior design shops in New York, London
    and
    Newport, Rhode Island.
    The shop was quite exclusive, counting
    Henry DuPont among its clientele.
    The Oriele silver shop offered hand wrought
    re-creations of antique forms,
    closing its doors at the start of the Great Depression.
