Extremely rare and one coin that rarely comes up for sale. PCGS Proof 49r Horseman minted for the S. S. Central America ship wreck. Only 50 of these silver proofs were struck as die trials for the actual gold 49er Horseman. This one is #25 of #50. PCGS certified. Only 50 of these were struck compared to the relatively scarce 2002 gold pieces struck. Superb cameo prooflike surfaces as shown. We could find no auction records of one being sold at Heritage, Stacks, Goldberg or Kagins. I you have the gold variety you must have the silver proof.
