    Description

    Israel ~ 8 AINA Membership Medals ~ 1982-1990
Unique and Rare! ~ Brilliant Uncirculated
    Israel ~ 8 AINA Membership Medals ~ 1982-1990.
From 1973 on, AINA (American Israel Numismatic Association) sent a free medal each year to each paid-up member. There were several different reverse motifs used featuring the AINA logo designed by Nat Sobel, who was also the first editor of
    The Shekel.
The early issues mimicked the Season’s Greetings medals sent annually by the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation to subscribers. Later, medals featured designs from Israel coins and medals, ancient Judaean coins, and many that were unique to the AINA Membership medals. These are the 8 brilliant uncirculated medals in this lot:
    • 1982 (Brass) “Israel’s 34th Anniversary & A.I.N.A.’s 15th Year of Service”, Designer: Jacob Hennenberg
    • 1983 (Brass) “Numismatics—Metallic Ambassadors of Good Will”, Designer: Nat Sobel
    • 1984 (Brass) “Pomegranates—Israel 36, AINA 17”, Designer: Nat Sobel
    • 1985 (Brass) “18: 1967-1985, Jerusalem Reunited, AINA Founded”, Designer: Nat Sobel
    • 1987 (Brass) “AINA 20th Anniversary—May the Watchtower of the Society of Man be Enlightenment”, Designer: B. Piken
    • 1988 (Brass) “AINA 21st Anniversary—Thou shalt rejoice”, Designer: Nat Sobel
    • 1989 (Brass) “22 Years—Bringing a Jewish Light to the Numismatic World”, Designer: "BK"
    • 1990 (Brass) “AINA-ANA-ANS-IGCAM-INS Israel-INS USA”, Designer: Nat Sobel
