description
This impressive, large antique teapot made of sterling silver shows many elements from the Rococo. The bulbous, round body of the teapot stands on round ball feet and is decorated with gadronized walls, flower and leaf decorations using the repousse technique. The arched hinged lid was made with an embedded hinge and decorated like the body. The simple handle with thumb piece is made of rosewood. The presented teapot was made by George & John Cowie in London 1829-1832. Good condition - used with minor signs of age & blemishes.
