    Description

For sale are 5 beautiful "One of a Kind" USA Slingerland Studio King custom drums. This set was painted in a gorgeous Wild Cherry Burst Premium Lacquer finish that was not offered by Slingerland. Studio King drums where first made in Nashville, TN when Gibson Guitars owned the company, and are some of the best Slingerland drums ever made! These drums were played for only a few hours and have been stored in foam-lined Protechtor XL hardshell plastic molded cases (included). They are in mint condition.
The drum sizes listed in depth by diameter: The rack toms are 8x10, 9x12 and 10x13. The floor tom is 16x16 and the bass drum is 18x24. The rack toms come with GPI R.I.M.S. mounts that have black bands with custom powder-coated smoke gray plates w/black carriage bolts and black DW tom brackets. The floor tom has a black GPI basket cradle style R.I.M.S. mount with black DW brackets and legs. The bass drum has black DW bass drum legs.
The toms are outfitted with Slingerland Logo Remo coated ambassadors on the batter sides and Slingerland logo Remo clear ambassador on the reso sides. The bass drum has a P3 clear on the batter and a Remo smooth white ambassador Slingerland logo head on the front.
The drum shells are thin (under 4.5mm) 6ply all Maple! The toms and floor tom have die-cast hoops. Each drum has one brass vintage Cloud Badge and Slingerland Sound King lugs. The bearing edges and wood work were done by renown drum artisan Sam Bacco who currently works at The Craviotto Drum Company. The shells where painted by one of the best in the business, Patrick Foley, a renown painter, who Gibson hired to paint all of their hi-end Studio King drums, Radio King snare drums, and Studio King Tour Series drums in the 1990's. Wild Cherry Burst was never offered by Slingerland but I had Pat paint these drums specially for me in this color. This kit was one of the last kits he painted before he left Slingerland.
These drums sound amazing and are what I like to think of as a Hot-rodded Gretsch USA Custom kit. They have big low-end and great sustain. I played them twice and realized that the bands and venues I was playing in at the time were just not worthy of this kind of drum kit. I stored them after only a few hours of play.
