Description
Edward, John & William Barnard Sterling Silver Tea/Coffee Service, London 1848.Exceedingly fine tea set manufactured nearly 170 years ago in London. Adorned with the motto: "Quod vult valde vult" - "What he wishes, he fervently wishes." Very delicate and spectacular tea set. It has been professionally polished and has little wear. Some minor impressions from use. No significant dings or damage. Superb craftsmanship from a high end silversmith family - perhaps the oldest manufacturing silversmith in the world with origins dating to 1680.
Set includes Teapot, creamer and sugar bowl. Additions to the set include a solid silver tray and a sterling sugar spoon. These were not part of the original set. The tray that matches this set is actually the EBJ&W example on the 925-1000.com website.
