The patch is guaranteed to be an original and not reproduction.
Smokey The Bear is the official mascot of the United States Forest Service.
The actual live Smokey Bear came to be after a little bear cub was orphaned and rescued from a major forest fire.
That forest fire occurred in the Lincoln National Forest located in the state of New Mexico.
The forest service adopted the orphaned bear cub and created him as their
official mascot in the year 1944.
The Forest Service did this to help educate the general public on the dangers of forest fires and wild fire.
Smokey’s proper and correct formal name is “Smokey Bear” however most know him as Smokey The Bear.
There are many collectible items related to Smokey Bear.
They range from official stuffed animals to bumper stickers to pencils.
Many such as the patch I am offering in this eBay Auction are very and highly collectible to collectors of Smokey The Bear Items and Artifacts!
This
38 Year Old Patch
was created & issued as part of the 1982 Smokey Bear Patch Series.
The patch was given out to help promote the prevention of forest fires and was used in schools, at fair exhibits and as a give-a-way when forest fire prevention programs where being given to the general public at such places like fire company’s, town meeting hall or public offices.
The patch is rectangular in shape and consists of a up-close facial picture of “Smokey Bear” with a black background. Seen against that background is Smokey Bear’s face wearing his famous tan “Smokey” Hat.
Above “Smokey’s” Hat in red lettering is the wording “
Think
” in tan lettering.
Below “Smokey’s” Chin is the wording “
Thanks
”, in red lettering.
The patch’s rectangular shape has diameter measures of 2 ¾” by 3 ½”.
The patch contains 2 styles / sizes of lettering and 6 very vivid colors. The backing on the patch is different from the older cheesecloth type backing.
The backing is rubberized to add to the life of the patch and better protect the sewing, which make it up.
This very beautiful patch catches your eye with all the bright colors and beautiful close-up facial of “Smokey Bear”.

The patch we are selling in this eBay Listing and the patch you will receive are new / unused and have not been sewn on any garment, material or item.
The patch you will receive will be in excellent condition and the same as the one seen in the photographs. We do use stock photographs in our Listing Ads which means the patch you will receive may or may not vary slightly in color or patch detail.  With this particular patch, there are about 6 different color / detail variations where the colors or patch detail vary.
The patch you receive will be an original, new patch.

After this the cardboard mailer will either be wrapped using bubble wrap or the cardboard mailer will be placed into a protective bubble wrap mailer and mailed to you.
Which packing method used will depend on the particular item you have won from us.
The shipping and handling charge will include the packing method described in the paragraph above and a shipping label produced using our business PayPal Account.
In doing so, it will include delivery confirmation along with barcode addressing.
