    Vintage, Hand Carved, Hand Painted, Wood Folk Art: Set of 3 Fish with Initials
    This hand carved, hand painted set is truly unique, with vibrant colors painted on fish that have been carved out of the wood planks, raised above their textured, warm grey backgrounds. Each original, one-of-a-kind piece is signed with the artist's initials, "MR". The largest measures 11 and 3/4 inches wide by 5 and 7/8 inches high, the swordfish (the only fish I recognize!) measures 13 and 5/8 inches wide by 3 and 1/2 inches high, and the smallest of the 3 measures 9 and 1/2 inches wide by 3 and 1/2 inches high. All 3 are 3/4 inches deep. The largest piece has a hole in the wood plank along its top edge, which is not visible from the front. Each piece of art already has a hanging bracket on the back. The artist was a lovely gentleman from Sullivan County, NY, who expressed his love of all things fishing through his charming, and beautifully detailed folk art.
