This listing is for a lovely La Paglia Sterling Silver 3-piece coffee or tea service. The set has an elegant clean design with scalloped tops and slender stepped feet. The coffee pot's handle is carved ebonized wood with a beautiful shape. No monograms. Marked
with the La Paglio trademark stamp and "Sterling, 9 2" with the creamer and sugar being marked "Sterling, 9 2 H". Combined weight of set is 1040 grams.
Alphonse La Paglia (1907-1953) was a Sicilian born silversmith who studied and trained under Georg Jensen in Denmark. In the early 1940's he came to the U.S. and settled in NJ. In 1952 he established a working relationship with the International Silver Co. and moved his workshop to Meriden CT and established the International Sterling Crafts Associates. Shortly thereafter in 1953, at the age of 46, he died and his designs became the property of International. The International Sterling Crafts Associates was disbanded in 1957. Many of his designs bore the direct influence of George Jensen.
Set consists of:
(1) Coffee pot - Measures 8 5/8" high, 8" wide (spout to handle) and 4 1/4" deep. Weighs 680 grams.

Sugar bowl - Measures 3 1/2" high (at handle), 3" high (to top of rim) with a 3 1/4" top diameter. Weighs 180 grams.
(3) Creamer - Measures 4 1/2" high (to top of handle), 3 3/4" wide (spout to handle) and 3" deep. Weighs 180 grams.
Each piece of this set is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minor signs of normal wear.
