"Roy Rogers - King of the Cowboys" - Uncut Trading Card Test Media Strip, 1992

Description

Up for sale is an uncut test card strip for "Roy Rogers - King of the Cowboys - Series 1, Premium Collector Cards by Arrowcatch Productions - 1992".
The sheet has a front and back side: 6 test card fronts and backs on the reverse side of the strip, (5 are numbered while the 6th card will become an unnumbered bonus card in the set). Nice piece of cowboy movie western memorabilia.
The 1992 set was distributed as a boxed factory set.  It consisted of 70 regular cards with two more cards serving as checklists. The fronts of the cards featured the photo covers of all the Roy Roger Comics from January 1948 through October of 1953. Be aware, however, the cards are cover images based on photos from the television series . . . the cover art that was done over the photo to produce the final comic book cover is not depicted on the cards (for example, the comic's title, Roy Rogers' name, publishing information) . . . thus, the set was a media set and not a comics set.
The cards were printed in 4-color with U.V. coating on both sides. The boxed sets are not too difficult to find but boxed sets that have been stored for a long while often exhibit sticking of adjacent cards because of the U.V. coating.
A test card strip such as this is much more difficult to find than the cards themselves. The strip also NOT have the sticking image problem since it was kept by itself. The test strip measures about 20 inches by 5 inches.
There were two different sets of test cards . . . . the two sets where identical as far as the photos of Roy Rogers, but one set had a red border while the other set had a blue border. This is obviously the red border set. The five cards are described as follows:

Notice I have provided closeup photos what was the back of the test cards look like.  Four have photos of some Roy Rogers collectibles while the fifth photo is of Roy and Dale. The six card on the test strip is unnumbered. It "announces" the whole series with the back of this card depicting the collectible Hartland plastic figures of Roy, Dale, Trigger and Bullet.
There are some imperfections in the test card strip . . . a few very small edge tears, bends and marks.  As you can see from the photos these are minimal and detract little from the collectible. The test card strip still holds its shape very well.
